More Than a Student is a scholarship and development program under The Roberts Foundation dedicated to supporting African American students who strive for excellence both in the classroom and in their communities. We go beyond financial assistance by investing in the whole student—providing guidance, mentorship, and real-world development opportunities that prepare them for life after college. Our goal is simple: to help students not only succeed, but lead.

Tell us about your journey, your goals, and how you’ve made an impact in your community. We’re looking for character, resilience, and purpose—not just grades.

Demonstrate Impact
Highlight your involvement in service, leadership, or initiatives that uplift others. We value students who take action and give back.

Interview & Evaluation
Selected applicants will be invited to a short interview. This is an opportunity for us to get to know you better—your mindset, your ambition, and your vision for the future.

Selection & Acceptance
Final recipients are chosen based on academic commitment, character, and community impact. If selected, you’ll receive an official offer to join the program.

Scholarship Award
Recipients receive financial scholarship support along with access to mentorship, advising, and development opportunities.
